Cost of 3 dresses
= 3 x 1 u
= 3 u

Cost of 1 jumpsuit = 2 u

Cost of 1 jumpsuit and 3 dresses
= 2 u + 3 u
= 5 u

Fraction of Jade's money spent on each dress
= ¹₅ x ¹₄
= ¹₂₀

¹₄ of her money = 5 u
³₄ of her money = 3 x 5 u = 15 u

Jade's remaining money = 15 u

Cost of the bracelet
= ²₃ x 15 u
= 10 u

Amount that Jade spent more on the bracelet than on the 3 dresses
= 10 u - 3 u
= 7 u

7 u = 147

1 u = 147 ÷ 7 = 21

⁴₄ of her money = 4 x 5 u = 20 u

Amount that Jade had at first
= 20 u
