Cost of 5 windbreakers
= 5 x 1 u

Cost of 1 blazer = 3 u

Cost of 1 blazer and 5 windbreakers
= 3 u + 5 u

Fraction of Olivia's money spent on each windbreaker
= ¹₈ x ¹₃
= ¹₂₄

¹₃ of her money = 8 u
²₃ of her money = 2 x 8 u = 16 u

Olivia's remaining money = 16 u

Cost of the ring
= ⁵₈ x 16 u
= 10 u

Amount that Olivia spent more on the ring than on the 5 windbreakers
= 10 u - 5 u
= 5 u

5 u = 140

1 u = 140 ÷ 5 = 28
