Cost of 3 skirts
= 3 x 1 u
= 3 u

Cost of 1 jacket = 3 u

Cost of 1 jacket and 3 skirts
= 3 u + 3 u
= 6 u

Fraction of Kylie's money spent on each skirt
= ¹₆ x ¹₅
= ¹₃₀

(b)
¹₅ of her money = 6 u
⁴₅ of her money = 4 x 6 u = 24 u

Kylie's remaining money = 24 u

Cost of the necklace
= ⁴₅ x 24 u
= 19.2 u

Amount that Kylie spent more on the necklace than on the 3 skirts
= 19.2 u - 3 u
= 16.2 u

16.2 u = 307.8

1 u = 307.8 ÷ 16.2 = 19

⁵₅ of her money = 5 x 6 u = 30 u

= 30 u
