Cost of 5 coats
= 5 x 1 u
= 5 u

Cost of 1 jacket = 2 u

Cost of 1 jacket and 5 coats
= 2 u + 5 u
= 7 u

Fraction of Winnie's money spent on each coat
= ¹₇ x ¹₃
= ¹₂₁

¹₃ of her money = 7 u
²₃ of her money = 2 x 7 u = 14 u

Winnie's remaining money = 14 u

Cost of the necklace
= ⁵₇ x 14 u
= 10 u

Amount that Winnie spent more on the necklace than on the 5 coats
= 10 u - 5 u
= 5 u

5 u = 90

1 u = 90 ÷ 5 = 18
