Cost of 5 jumpsuits
= 5 x 1 u
= 5 u

Cost of 1 jacket = 3 u

Cost of 1 jacket and 5 jumpsuits
= 3 u + 5 u
= 8 u

Fraction of Yen's money spent on each jumpsuit
= ¹₈ x ¹₆
= ¹₄₈

¹₆ of her money = 8 u
⁵₆ of her money = 5 x 8 u = 40 u

Yen's remaining money = 40 u

Cost of the ring
= ⁴₅ x 40 u
= 32 u

Amount that Yen spent more on the ring than on the 5 jumpsuits
= 32 u - 5 u
= 27 u

27 u = 594

1 u = 594 ÷ 27 = 22

⁶₆ of her money = 6 x 8 u = 48 u

Amount that Yen had at first
= 48 u
= 48 x 22
