Cost of 4 blouses
= 4 x 1 u
= 4 u

Cost of 1 skirt = 3 u

Cost of 1 skirt and 4 blouses
= 3 u + 4 u
= 7 u

Fraction of Eva's money spent on each blouse
= ¹₇ x ¹₇
= ¹₄₉

¹₇ of her money = 7 u
⁶₇ of her money = 6 x 7 u = 42 u

Eva's remaining money = 42 u

Cost of the necklace
= ³₇ x 42 u
= 18 u

Amount that Eva spent more on the necklace than on the 4 blouses
= 18 u - 4 u
= 14 u

14 u = 266

1 u = 266 ÷ 14 = 19

⁷₇ of her money = 7 x 7 u = 49 u

Amount that Eva had at first
= 49 u
= 49 x 19
