Cost of 1 dress = 3 u

Cost of 1 dress and 5 windbreakers
= 3 u + 5 u

Fraction of Winnie's money spent on each windbreaker
= ¹₈ x ¹₈
= ¹₆₄

¹₈ of her money = 8 u
⁷₈ of her money = 7 x 8 u = 56 u

Winnie's remaining money = 56 u

Cost of the ring
= ³₈ x 56 u
= 21 u

Amount that Winnie spent more on the ring than on the 5 windbreakers
= 21 u - 5 u
= 16 u

16 u = 400

1 u = 400 ÷ 16 = 25

⁸₈ of her money = 8 x 8 u = 64 u

= 64 u
