Cost of 3 jackets
= 3 x 1 u
= 3 u

Cost of 1 dress = 3 u

Cost of 1 dress and 3 jackets
= 3 u + 3 u
= 6 u

Fraction of Sabrina's money spent on each jacket
= ¹₆ x ¹₆
= ¹₃₆

(b)
¹₆ of her money = 6 u
⁵₆ of her money = 5 x 6 u = 30 u

Sabrina's remaining money = 30 u

Cost of the necklace
= ⁵₆ x 30 u
= 25 u

Amount that Sabrina spent more on the necklace than on the 3 jackets
= 25 u - 3 u
= 22 u

22 u = 374

1 u = 374 ÷ 22 = 17

⁶₆ of her money = 6 x 6 u = 36 u

Amount that Sabrina had at first
= 36 u
= 36 x 17
