Cost of 5 jackets
= 5 x 1 u
= 5 u

Cost of 1 blazer = 2 u

Cost of 1 blazer and 5 jackets
= 2 u + 5 u
= 7 u

Fraction of Diana's money spent on each jacket
= ¹₇ x ¹₆
= ¹₄₂

¹₆ of her money = 7 u
⁵₆ of her money = 5 x 7 u = 35 u

Diana's remaining money = 35 u

Cost of the bracelet
= ³₅ x 35 u
= 21 u

Amount that Diana spent more on the bracelet than on the 5 jackets
= 21 u - 5 u
= 16 u

16 u = 304

1 u = 304 ÷ 16 = 19

⁶₆ of her money = 6 x 7 u = 42 u

Amount that Diana had at first
= 42 u
= 42 x 19
