Cost of 4 jackets
= 4 x 1 u

Cost of 1 sweater = 3 u

Cost of 1 sweater and 4 jackets
= 3 u + 4 u

= ¹₄₂

⁵₆ of her money = 5 x 7 u = 35 u

Gillian's remaining money = 35 u

Cost of the ring
= ²₅ x 35 u
= 14 u

Amount that Gillian spent more on the ring than on the 4 jackets
= 14 u - 4 u
= 10 u

10 u = 110

1 u = 110 ÷ 10 = 11
