Three men, Dan, Rio and Ari had the same number of notes. Rio and Dan each had of mix of $100-notes and $20-notes. Rio had 10 $20-notes while Dan had 17 $20-notes. Ari had only $100-notes.

1. Of the three men, who had the least money? 
2. What was the difference in the total value of Rio and Dan's notes? 
3. Dan used all his $100-notes to buy a gift. Ari then had $2460 more than Dan. How many $100-notes did Ari have?

The three men had the same number of notes.
$20-notes have a lower denomination than $100-notes.

Dan had more $20-notes than Rio while Ari had only the $100-notes.  

Since Dan had the most number of $20-notes, he had the least money.

(b)
Difference in the number of notes of different values
= 17 - 10
= 7

Difference in the value of $100-note and $20-note
= 100 - 20
= $80

Difference in the total value of Rio's and Dan's notes
= 7 x 80
= $560

(c)
Value of $20-notes that Dan had left
= 17 x 20
= $340

Total value that Ari had
= 2460 + 340
= $2800

Number of $100-notes that Ari had
= 2800 ÷ 100
= 28
