At a theme park, 35% of the tickets were sold at full price and 55% of the tickets at half price. The remaining 50 tickets were given away free. The total amount of money collected was $10625. What was the full price of the ticket?
Percentage of the tickets given free
= 100% - 35% - 55%
= 10%

10% → 50

1% → 50 ÷ 10 = 5

Number of tickets sold at full price
= 35% of the tickets
= 35 x 5
= 175

Number of tickets sold at half price
= 55% of the tickets
= 55 x 5
= 275

Total value	350 u	275 u		625 u

Cost of 1 full price ticket = 2 u
Cost of 1 half price ticket = 1 u

Total amount collected
= 175 x 2 u + 275 x 1 u

625 u = 10625

1 u = 10625 ÷ 625 = 17

Full price of the ticket
= 2 u
= 2 x 17
= $34
