At a theme park, 35% of the tickets were sold at full price and 55% of the tickets at half price. The remaining 90 tickets were given away free. The total amount of money collected was $27000. What was the price of the ticket at half price? 
Percentage of the tickets given free
= 100% - 35% - 55%
= 10%

10% → 90

1% → 90 ÷ 10 = 9

Number of tickets sold at full price
= 35% of the tickets
= 35 x 9
= 315

Number of tickets sold at half price
= 55% of the tickets
= 55 x 9
= 495

Value	2 u	1 u
Total value	630 u	495 u		1125 u

Cost of 1 full price ticket = 2 u
Cost of 1 half price ticket = 1 u

Total amount collected
= 315 x 2 u + 495 x 1 u

= 1125 u

1125 u = 27000

1 u = 27000 ÷ 1125 = 24

Price of the ticket at half price 
= 1 u
= $24
