At a carnival, 80% of the tickets were sold at full price and 15% of the tickets at half price. The remaining 15 tickets were given away free. The total amount of money collected was $14175. What was the full price of the ticket?
Percentage of the tickets given free
= 100% - 80% - 15%
= 5%

5% → 15

1% → 15 ÷ 5 = 3

Number of tickets sold at full price
= 80% of the tickets
= 80 x 3
= 240

Number of tickets sold at half price
= 15% of the tickets
= 15 x 3
= 45

Total value	480 u	45 u		525 u

Cost of 1 full price ticket = 2 u
Cost of 1 half price ticket = 1 u

Total amount collected
= 240 x 2 u + 45 x 1 u

525 u = 14175

1 u = 14175 ÷ 525 = 27

Full price of the ticket
= 2 u
= 2 x 27
= $54
