At a basketball match, 20% of the tickets were sold at full price and 15% of the tickets at half price. The remaining 260 tickets were given away free. The total amount of money collected was $6600. What was the full price of the ticket?
Percentage of the tickets given free
= 100% - 20% - 15%
= 65%

65% → 260

1% → 260 ÷ 65 = 4

Number of tickets sold at full price
= 20% of the tickets
= 20 x 4
= 80

Number of tickets sold at half price
= 15% of the tickets
= 15 x 4
= 60

Total value	160 u	60 u		220 u

Cost of 1 full price ticket = 2 u
Cost of 1 half price ticket = 1 u

Total amount collected
= 80 x 2 u + 60 x 1 u

220 u = 6600

1 u = 6600 ÷ 220 = 30

Full price of the ticket
= 2 u
= 2 x 30
= $60
