At a theme park, 15% of the tickets were sold at full price and 30% of the tickets at half price. The remaining 275 tickets were given away free. The total amount of money collected was $7500. What was the full price of the ticket?
Percentage of the tickets given free
= 100% - 15% - 30%
= 55%

55% → 275

1% → 275 ÷ 55 = 5

Number of tickets sold at full price
= 15% of the tickets
= 15 x 5
= 75

Number of tickets sold at half price
= 30% of the tickets
= 30 x 5
= 150

Total value	150 u	150 u		300 u

Cost of 1 full price ticket = 2 u
Cost of 1 half price ticket = 1 u

Total amount collected
= 75 x 2 u + 150 x 1 u

1 u = 7500 ÷ 300 = 25

Full price of the ticket
= 2 u
= 2 x 25
= $50
