At a fun fair, 15% of the tickets were sold at full price and 15% of the tickets at half price. The remaining 420 tickets were given away free. The total amount of money collected was $2700. What was the full price of the ticket?
Percentage of the tickets given free
= 100% - 15% - 15%
= 70%

70% → 420

1% → 420 ÷ 70 = 6

Number of tickets sold at full price
= 15% of the tickets
= 15 x 6
= 90

Number of tickets sold at half price
= 15% of the tickets
= 15 x 6
= 90

Total value	180 u	90 u		270 u

Cost of 1 full price ticket = 2 u
Cost of 1 half price ticket = 1 u

Total amount collected
= 90 x 2 u + 90 x 1 u

1 u = 2700 ÷ 270 = 10

Full price of the ticket
= 2 u
= 2 x 10
= $20
