PSLE At a soccer match, 60% of the tickets were sold at full price and 15% of the tickets at half price. The remaining 200 tickets were given away free. The total amount of money collected was $10800. What was the full price of the ticket?
Percentage of the tickets given free
= 100% - 60% - 15%
= 25%
25% → 200
1% → 200 ÷ 25 = 8
Number of tickets sold at full price
= 60% of the tickets
= 60 x 8
= 480
Number of tickets sold at half price
= 15% of the tickets
= 15 x 8
= 120

Cost of 1 full price ticket = 2 u
Cost of 1 half price ticket = 1 u
Total amount collected
= 480 x 2 u + 120 x 1 u
= 960 u + 120 u
= 1080 u
1080 u = 10800
1 u = 10800 ÷ 1080 = 10
Full price of the ticket

= 2 x 10
= $20
