At a soccer match, 65% of the tickets were sold at full price and 25% of the tickets at half price. The remaining 50 tickets were given away free. The total amount of money collected was $16275. What was the full price of the ticket?
Percentage of the tickets given free
= 100% - 65% - 25%
= 10%

10% → 50

1% → 50 ÷ 10 = 5

Number of tickets sold at full price
= 65% of the tickets
= 65 x 5
= 325

Number of tickets sold at half price
= 25% of the tickets
= 25 x 5
= 125

Total value	650 u	125 u		775 u

Cost of 1 full price ticket = 2 u
Cost of 1 half price ticket = 1 u

Total amount collected
= 325 x 2 u + 125 x 1 u

1 u = 16275 ÷ 775 = 21

Full price of the ticket
= 2 u
= 2 x 21
= $42
