At a basketball match, 10% of the tickets were sold at full price and 25% of the tickets at half price. The remaining 325 tickets were given away free. The total amount of money collected was $5400. What was the price of the ticket at half price? 
Percentage of the tickets given free
= 100% - 10% - 25%
= 65%

65% → 325

1% → 325 ÷ 65 = 5

Number of tickets sold at full price
= 10% of the tickets
= 10 x 5
= 50

Number of tickets sold at half price
= 25% of the tickets
= 25 x 5
= 125

Total value	100 u	125 u		225 u

Cost of 1 full price ticket = 2 u
Cost of 1 half price ticket = 1 u

Total amount collected
= 50 x 2 u + 125 x 1 u

225 u = 5400

1 u = 5400 ÷ 225 = 24

Price of the ticket at half price 
= 1 u
= $24
