At a theme park, 25% of the tickets were sold at full price and 25% of the tickets at half price. The remaining 350 tickets were given away free. The total amount of money collected was $5775. What was the price of the ticket at half price? 
Percentage of the tickets given free
= 100% - 25% - 25%
= 50%

50% → 350

1% → 350 ÷ 50 = 7

Number of tickets sold at full price
= 25% of the tickets
= 25 x 7
= 175

Number of tickets sold at half price
= 25% of the tickets
= 25 x 7
= 175

Total value	350 u	175 u		525 u

Cost of 1 full price ticket = 2 u
Cost of 1 half price ticket = 1 u

Total amount collected
= 175 x 2 u + 175 x 1 u

525 u = 5775

1 u = 5775 ÷ 525 = 11

Price of the ticket at half price 
= 1 u
= $11
