At a fun fair, 30% of the tickets were sold at full price and 45% of the tickets at half price. The remaining 150 tickets were given away free. The total amount of money collected was $13860. What was the full price of the ticket?
Percentage of the tickets given free
= 100% - 30% - 45%
= 25%

25% → 150

1% → 150 ÷ 25 = 6

Number of tickets sold at full price
= 30% of the tickets
= 30 x 6
= 180

Number of tickets sold at half price
= 45% of the tickets
= 45 x 6
= 270

Total value	360 u	270 u		630 u

Cost of 1 full price ticket = 2 u
Cost of 1 half price ticket = 1 u

Total amount collected
= 180 x 2 u + 270 x 1 u

630 u = 13860

1 u = 13860 ÷ 630 = 22

Full price of the ticket
= 2 u
= 2 x 22
= $44
