Rachel had a total of 120 red and orange beads. She used 43 red beads and 75% of the orange beads. After that, the ratio of the number of red beads to orange beads Rachel had was 7 : 1.

1. What fraction of her orange beads did Rachel use? Give your answer in the simplest form.
2. How many beads did Rachel have in the end?

The number of orange beads in the end is repeated.
Since the numbers are already the same, we do not need to use LCM to make them the same.

Number of orange beads at first = 4 u
Number of red beads at first = 7 u + 43

Total number of beads at first
= 4 u + 7 u + 43
= 11 u + 43

11 u + 43 = 120
11 u = 120 - 43
11 u = 77

1 u = 77 ÷ 11 = 7

Number of orange beads in the end = 1 u
Number of red beads in the end = 7 u

Total number of beads in the end
= 7 u + 1 u
= 8 u
= 8 x 7
= 56
