Kylie had a total of 89 blue and silver beads. She used 12 blue beads and 50% of the silver beads. After that, the ratio of the number of blue beads to silver beads Kylie had was 9 : 1.

1. What fraction of her silver beads was Kylie left with? Give your answer in the simplest form.
2. How many more blue beads than silver beads did Kylie have in the end?

Total number of beads at first
= 2 u + 9 u + 12
= 11 u + 12

11 u + 12 = 89
11 u = 89 - 12
11 u = 77

1 u = 77 ÷ 11 = 7

Number of silver beads in the end = 1 u
Number of blue beads in the end = 9 u

Number of more blue beads than silver beads that Kylie had in the end
= 9 u - 1 u
= 8 u
= 8 x 7
= 56
