Jaslyn had a total of 151 orange and silver beads. She used 41 orange beads and 75% of the silver beads. After that, the ratio of the number of orange beads to silver beads Jaslyn had was 7 : 1.

1. What fraction of her silver beads was Jaslyn left with? Give your answer in the simplest form.
2. How many more orange beads than silver beads did Jaslyn have in the end?

Since the numbers are already the same, we do not need to use LCM to make them the same.

Number of silver beads at first = 4 u
Number of orange beads at first = 7 u + 41

Total number of beads at first
= 4 u + 7 u + 41
= 11 u + 41

11 u + 41 = 151
11 u = 151 - 41
11 u = 110

1 u = 110 ÷ 11 = 10

Number of silver beads in the end = 1 u
Number of orange beads in the end = 7 u

Number of more orange beads than silver beads that Jaslyn had in the end
= 7 u - 1 u
= 6 u
= 6 x 10
= 60
