Gem had a total of 207 pink and blue beads. She used 47 pink beads and 75% of the blue beads. After that, the ratio of the number of pink beads to blue beads Gem had was 6 : 1.

1. What fraction of her blue beads was Gem left with? Give your answer in the simplest form.
2. How many more pink beads than blue beads did Gem have in the end?

Since the numbers are already the same, we do not need to use LCM to make them the same.

Number of blue beads at first = 4 u
Number of pink beads at first = 6 u + 47

Total number of beads at first
= 4 u + 6 u + 47
= 10 u + 47

10 u + 47 = 207
10 u = 207 - 47
10 u = 160

1 u = 160 ÷ 10 = 16

Number of blue beads in the end = 1 u
Number of pink beads in the end = 6 u

Number of more pink beads than blue beads that Gem had in the end
= 6 u - 1 u
= 5 u
= 5 x 16
= 80
