Jade had a total of 291 gold and silver beads. She used 25 gold beads and 25% of the silver beads. After that, the ratio of the number of gold beads to silver beads Jade had was 10 : 3.

1. What fraction of her silver beads was Jade left with? Give your answer in the simplest form.
2. How many more gold beads than silver beads did Jade have in the end?

Since the numbers are already the same, we do not need to use LCM to make them the same.

Number of silver beads at first = 4 u
Number of gold beads at first = 10 u + 25

Total number of beads at first
= 4 u + 10 u + 25
= 14 u + 25

14 u + 25 = 291
14 u = 291 - 25
14 u = 266

1 u = 266 ÷ 14 = 19

Number of silver beads in the end = 3 u
Number of gold beads in the end = 10 u

Number of more gold beads than silver beads that Jade had in the end
= 10 u - 3 u
= 7 u
= 7 x 19
= 133
