Julie had a total of 204 silver and purple beads. She used 48 silver beads and 50% of the purple beads. After that, the ratio of the number of silver beads to purple beads Julie had was 10 : 1.

1. What fraction of her purple beads did Julie use? Give your answer in the simplest form.
2. How many beads did Julie have in the end?

Total number of beads at first
= 2 u + 10 u + 48
= 12 u + 48

12 u + 48 = 204
12 u = 204 - 48
12 u = 156

1 u = 156 ÷ 12 = 13

Number of purple beads in the end = 1 u
Number of silver beads in the end = 10 u

Total number of beads in the end
= 10 u + 1 u
= 11 u
= 11 x 13
= 143
