Sabrina had a total of 190 yellow and purple beads. She used 14 yellow beads and 75% of the purple beads. After that, the ratio of the number of yellow beads to purple beads Sabrina had was 7 : 1.

1. What fraction of her purple beads was Sabrina left with? Give your answer in the simplest form.
2. How many more yellow beads than purple beads did Sabrina have in the end?

Since the numbers are already the same, we do not need to use LCM to make them the same.

Number of purple beads at first = 4 u
Number of yellow beads at first = 7 u + 14

Total number of beads at first
= 4 u + 7 u + 14
= 11 u + 14

11 u + 14 = 190
11 u = 190 - 14
11 u = 176

1 u = 176 ÷ 11 = 16

Number of purple beads in the end = 1 u
Number of yellow beads in the end = 7 u

Number of more yellow beads than purple beads that Sabrina had in the end
= 7 u - 1 u
= 6 u
= 6 x 16
= 96
