Shiyun had a total of 176 black and yellow beads. She used 22 black beads and 90% of the yellow beads. After that, the ratio of the number of black beads to yellow beads Shiyun had was 4 : 1.

1. What fraction of her yellow beads did Shiyun use? Give your answer in the simplest form.
2. How many beads did Shiyun have in the end?

Since the numbers are already the same, we do not need to use LCM to make them the same.

Number of yellow beads at first = 10 u
Number of black beads at first = 4 u + 22

Total number of beads at first
= 10 u + 4 u + 22
= 14 u + 22

14 u + 22 = 176
14 u = 176 - 22
14 u = 154

1 u = 154 ÷ 14 = 11

Number of yellow beads in the end = 1 u
Number of black beads in the end = 4 u

Total number of beads in the end
= 4 u + 1 u
= 5 u
= 5 x 11
= 55
