Anna had a total of 170 silver and pink beads. She used 16 silver beads and 25% of the pink beads. After that, the ratio of the number of silver beads to pink beads Anna had was 10 : 3.

1. What fraction of her pink beads was Anna left with? Give your answer in the simplest form.
2. How many more silver beads than pink beads did Anna have in the end?

Since the numbers are already the same, we do not need to use LCM to make them the same.

Number of pink beads at first = 4 u
Number of silver beads at first = 10 u + 16

Total number of beads at first
= 4 u + 10 u + 16
= 14 u + 16

14 u + 16 = 170
14 u = 170 - 16
14 u = 154

1 u = 154 ÷ 14 = 11

Number of pink beads in the end = 3 u
Number of silver beads in the end = 10 u

Number of more silver beads than pink beads that Anna had in the end
= 10 u - 3 u
= 7 u
= 7 x 11
= 77
