A caterer prepares seaweed chickens for some people attending the birthday party. The ratio of the number of adults to the number of children attending is 3 : 8. Among the children, the ratio of the number of boys to the girls is 3 : 5. A total of 56 seaweed chickens are prepared so that each adult gets 2 seaweed chickens and each child gets 1.

1. What fraction of the people attending the party are girls?

14 u = 56

1 u = 56 ÷ 14 = 4

= 3 u + 5 u
= 8 u
