Mr Toh used two printers with different printing rates for a printing job. He started Printer A at 12 31 and started Printer B one minute later. He stopped both machines at 12 36. The graphs show the total number of pages printed by each printer from the start of printing.

1. How many pages had been printed by Printer A at the time Mr Toh started Printer B?
2. What was the difference in the number of pages printed by the two machines from 12 31 to 12 36?
3. Which printer, A or B, has a slower printing rate? What is the difference in the number of pages printed by the machines in one minute? Give your answer in this format. (Eg A, 1)

Number of pages printed by Printer A from 12 31 to 12 36
= 80

Number of pages printed by Printer B from 12 31 to 12 36
= 220

Difference in the number of pages printed by the two machines from 12 31 to 12 36
= 220 - 80
= 140

(c)
Printing rate of Printer A
= 80 ÷ 5
= 16 (Slower)

Printing rate of Printer B
= 220 ÷ 4
= 55 (Faster)

Difference in the number of pages printed by the machines in one minute
= 55 - 16
= 39
