PSLEThe graphs show the total number of leaflets machines F and G printed from the start. Both machines started printing at the same time.
- How many less leaflets did F print than G in 3 minutes?
- Both machines did not change their rates of printing throughout. When F had printed 250 leaflets, how many leaflets had G printed?
(a)
Machine F:
10 min → 50
Machine G:
10 min → 200
Machine F less than Machine G:
10 min → 200 - 50 = 150
1 min → 150 ÷ 10 = 15
3 min → 3 x 15 = 45
Number of leaflets that machine F printed less than Machine G in 3 min = 45
(b)
Machine F:
250 leaflets → 50 min
Machine G:
10 min → 200
1 min → 200 ÷ 10 = 20
50 min → 50 x 20 = 1000
Number of leaflets that G had printed when F had printed 250 leaflets = 1000
Answer(s): (a) 45; (b) 1000
