PSLEThe graphs show the total number of leaflets machines F and G printed from the start. Both machines started printing at the same time.
- How many more leaflets did G print than F in 5 minutes?
- Both machines did not change their rates of printing throughout. When F had printed 200 leaflets, how many leaflets had G printed?
(a)
Machine F:
10 min → 80
Machine G:
10 min → 100
Machine G more than Machine F:
10 min → 100 - 80 = 20
1 min → 20 ÷ 10 = 2
5 min → 5 x 2 = 10
Number of leaflets that Machine G printed more than Machine F in 5 min = 10
(b)
Machine F:
200 leaflets → 25 min
Machine G:
10 min → 100
1 min → 100 ÷ 10 = 10
25 min → 25 x 10 = 250
Number of leaflets that Machine G had printed when Machine F had printed 200 leaflets = 250
Answer(s): (a) 10; (b) 250
