PSLEThe graphs show the total number of leaflets machines F and G printed from the start. Both machines started printing at the same time.
- How many less leaflets did F print than G in 6 minutes?
- Both machines did not change their rates of printing throughout. When F had printed 250 leaflets, how many leaflets had G printed?
(a)
Machine F:
10 min → 100
Machine G:
10 min → 150
Machine F less than Machine G:
10 min → 150 - 100 = 50
1 min → 50 ÷ 10 = 5
6 min → 6 x 5 = 30
Number of leaflets that machine F printed less than Machine G in 6 min = 30
(b)
Machine F:
250 leaflets → 25 min
Machine G:
10 min → 150
1 min → 150 ÷ 10 = 15
25 min → 25 x 15 = 375
Number of leaflets that G had printed when F had printed 250 leaflets = 375
Answer(s): (a) 30; (b) 375
