PSLEThe graphs show the total number of leaflets machines E and F printed from the start. Both machines started printing at the same time.
- How many less leaflets did E print than F in 3 minutes?
- Both machines did not change their rates of printing throughout. When E had printed 250 leaflets, how many leaflets had F printed?
(a)
Machine E:
10 min → 50
Machine F:
10 min → 200
Machine E less than Machine F:
10 min → 200 - 50 = 150
1 min → 150 ÷ 10 = 15
3 min → 3 x 15 = 45
Number of leaflets that machine E printed less than Machine F in 3 min = 45
(b)
Machine E:
250 leaflets → 50 min
Machine F:
10 min → 200
1 min → 200 ÷ 10 = 20
50 min → 50 x 20 = 1000
Number of leaflets that F had printed when E had printed 250 leaflets = 1000
Answer(s): (a) 45; (b) 1000
