PSLEThe graphs show the total number of leaflets machines G and H printed from the start. Both machines started printing at the same time.
- How many more leaflets did H print than G in 3 minutes?
- Both machines did not change their rates of printing throughout. When G had printed 150 leaflets, how many leaflets had H printed?
(a)
Machine G:
10 min → 60
Machine H:
10 min → 100
Machine H more than Machine G:
10 min → 100 - 60 = 40
1 min → 40 ÷ 10 = 4
3 min → 3 x 4 = 12
Number of leaflets that Machine H printed more than Machine G in 3 min = 12
(b)
Machine G:
150 leaflets → 25 min
Machine H:
10 min → 100
1 min → 100 ÷ 10 = 10
25 min → 25 x 10 = 250
Number of leaflets that Machine H had printed when Machine G had printed 150 leaflets = 250
Answer(s): (a) 12; (b) 250
