Cody and Bryan were paid a total of $1920 for a job they did. Bryan was paid $1380 less than Cody.

1. How much was Bryan paid for the job?
2. Cody and Bryan were paid based on the number of days they worked. Cody worked 5 times as many days as Bryan. Cody was paid $15 more than Bryan per day. How many days did Cody work?

Amount that Bryan was paid = 1 u
Amount that Cody was paid = 1 u + 1380

Total amount paid
= 1 u + 1 u + 1380
= 2 u + 1380

2 u + 1380 = 1920
2 u = 1920 - 1380
2 u = 540

1 u = 540 ÷ 2 = 270

Amount that Bryan was paid
= 1 u
= $270

Amount that Cody was paid
= 1 u + 1380
= 270 + 1380
= $1650

Cody worked 5 times as many days as Bryan.

5 sets of Cody's salary = $1650

1 set of Cody's salary
= 1650 ÷ 5
= $330

1 set of Bryan's salary = $270

Difference between each set of Cody's and Bryan's salaries
= 330 - 270
= $60

Number of days in 1 set
= 60 ÷ 15
= 4

Number of days that Cody worked
= 5 x 4
= 20
