2. Cody and Vaidev were paid based on the number of days they worked. Cody worked 3 times as many days as Vaidev. Vaidev was paid $12 less than Cody per day. How many days did Cody work?

Amount that Cody was paid = 1 u + 1870

Total amount paid
= 1 u + 1 u + 1870
= 2 u + 1870

2 u + 1870 = 3020
2 u = 3020 - 1870
2 u = 1150

1 u = 1150 ÷ 2 = 575

Amount that Vaidev was paid
= 1 u
= $575

Amount that Cody was paid
= 1 u + 1870
= 575 + 1870
= $2445

Cody worked 3 times as many days as Vaidev.

3 sets of Cody's salary = $2445

1 set of Cody's salary
= 2445 ÷ 3
= $815

1 set of Vaidev's salary = $575

Difference between each set of Cody's and Vaidev's salaries
= 815 - 575
= $240

Number of days in 1 set
= 240 ÷ 12
= 20

Number of days that Cody worked
= 3 x 20
= 60
