Zeph and Bryan were paid a total of $2130 for a job they did. Zeph was paid $1200 more than Bryan.

1. How much was Bryan paid for the job?
2. Zeph and Bryan were paid based on the number of days they worked. Zeph worked 3 times as many days as Bryan. Bryan was paid $15 less than Zeph per day. How many days did Zeph work?

Amount that Bryan was paid = 1 u
Amount that Zeph was paid = 1 u + 1200

Total amount paid
= 1 u + 1 u + 1200
= 2 u + 1200

2 u + 1200 = 2130
2 u = 2130 - 1200
2 u = 930

1 u = 930 ÷ 2 = 465

Amount that Bryan was paid
= 1 u
= $465

(b)
Amount that Zeph was paid
= 1 u + 1200
= 465 + 1200
= $1665

Zeph worked 3 times as many days as Bryan.

3 sets of Zeph's salary = $1665

1 set of Zeph's salary
= 1665 ÷ 3
= $555

1 set of Bryan's salary = $465

Difference between each set of Zeph's and Bryan's salaries
= 555 - 465
= $90

Number of days in 1 set
= 90 ÷ 15
= 6

Number of days that Zeph worked
= 3 x 6
= 18
