Fraction of his money that he had left

Let the cost of 1 passion fruit be 1 P.
Let the cost of 1 chikoo be 1 C.

4 P = 3 C _(x2)
8 P = 6 C

Since Mr Chong wants to buy chikoos with the money he had left, 8 passion fruits will be substituted as 6 chikoos.

³₇ of his money
= 8 P + 7 C
= 6 C + 7 C
= 13 C

³₇ of his money → 13 C
¹₇ of his money → ¹³₃ C
⁴₇ of his money → 4 x ¹³₃ C = 17¹₃ C

Maximum number of chikoos he could buy with the money that he had left = 17
