Mr Tang used ³₁₀ of his money to buy 6 pomegranates and 7 mangoes. The cost of 2 pomegranates was the same as that of 4 mangoes. What was the most number of mangoes that Mr Tang could buy with the money he had left?
Fraction of his money that he had left
= 1 - ³₁₀ 
= ⁷₁₀

Let the cost of 1 pomegranate be 1 P.
Let the cost of 1 mango be 1 M.

2 P = 4 M _(x3)
6 P = 12 M

Since Mr Tang wants to buy mangoes with the money he had left, 6 pomegranates will be substituted as 12 mangoes.

³₁₀ of his money
= 6 P + 7 M
= 12 M + 7 M
= 19 M

³₁₀ of his money → 19 M
¹₁₀ of his money → ¹⁹₃ M
⁷₁₀ of his money → 7 x ¹⁹₃ M = 44¹₃ M

Maximum number of mangoes he could buy with the money that he had left = 44
