Let the cost of 1 mango be 1 M.
Let the cost of 1 pomegranate be 1 P.

3 M = 4 P _(x2)
6 M = 8 P

Since Mr Soh wants to buy pomegranates with the money he had left, 6 mangoes will be substituted as 8 pomegranates.

⁵₈ of his money
= 6 M + 4 P
= 8 P + 4 P
= 12 P

⁵₈ of his money → 12 P
¹₈ of his money → ¹²₅ P
³₈ of his money → 3 x ¹²₅ P = 7¹₅ P

Maximum number of pomegranates he could buy with the money that he had left = 7
