= ⁵₉

Let the cost of 1 orange be 1 O.
Let the cost of 1 persimmon be 1 P.

4 O = 2 P _(x3)
12 O = 6 P

Since Mr Tay wants to buy persimmons with the money he had left, 12 oranges will be substituted as 6 persimmons.

⁴₉ of his money
= 12 O + 5 P
= 6 P + 5 P
= 11 P

⁴₉ of his money → 11 P
¹₉ of his money → ¹¹₄ P
⁵₉ of his money → 5 x ¹¹₄ P = 13³₄ P
