2 was divided into three portions of equal width. These portions were fenced using 263 m of fence as shown.
- Find the length of FG.
- Find the perimeter of the plot of land.

Length of the width of each portion
= 48 ÷ 3
= 16 m
Length of FG
= (263 - 48 - 48 - 43 - 43) ÷ 2
= 81 ÷ 2
= 40.5 m
(b)
Area of the biggest rectangle
= 43 x 16
= 688 m
2
Area of the medium rectangle
= 40.5 x 16
= 648 m
2 Area of the smallest rectangle
= 1888 - 688 - 648
= 552 m
2 Length of the smallest rectangle
= 552 ÷ 16
= 34.5 m
Perimeter of the plot of land
= 263 - (2 x 34.5)
= 263 - 69
= 194 m
