2 was divided into three portions of equal width. These portions were fenced using 235 m of fence as shown.
- Find the length of WX.
- Find the perimeter of the plot of land.

Length of the width of each portion
= 45 ÷ 3
= 15 m
Length of WX
= (235 - 45 - 45 - 38 - 38) ÷ 2
= 69 ÷ 2
= 34.5 m
(b)
Area of the biggest rectangle
= 38 x 15
= 570 m
2
Area of the medium rectangle
= 34.5 x 15
= 517.5 m
2 Area of the smallest rectangle
= 1500 - 570 - 517.5
= 412.5 m
2 Length of the smallest rectangle
= 412.5 ÷ 15
= 27.5 m
Perimeter of the plot of land
= 235 - (2 x 27.5)
= 235 - 55
= 180 m
