Oliver had an equal number of blueberry muffins, cream muffins and vanila muffins. After he ate 52 blueberry muffins, some cream muffins and vanila muffins, there were 68 muffins left. The number of cream muffins he ate was four times the number of vanila muffins he ate. The number of cream muffins left was 16 more than the number of blueberry muffins left. How many blueberry muffins were there at first?

1 u = 36 ÷ 4 = 9

Total number of muffins in the end
= 1 p + 1 p + 16 + 1 p + 16 + 9
= 1 p + 1 p + 1 p + 16 + 16 + 9
= 3 p + 41

3 p + 41 = 68
3 p = 68 - 41
3 p = 27

1 p = 27 ÷ 3 = 9

= 1 p + 52
= 9 + 52
