Mass of Tank L and the water inside = 8 u

Total mass of the two tanks and the water inside them
= 9 u + 8 u
= 17 u

17 u = 3400

1 u = 3400 ÷ 17 = 200

Mass of Tank K and the water in it more than mass of Tank L and the water in it 
= 9 u - 8 u
= 1 u

Fraction of the water that Tank K had more than Tank L 
= ¹₄ - ¹₅
= ⁵₂₀ - ⁴₂₀
= ¹₂₀

⁴₂₀ of the water capacity → 4 x 1 u = 4 u
