Percentage of pencils in Box C

Fraction of stationery in Box D that is pencils

35% of stationery in Box C = 175
1% of stationery in Box C = 175 ÷ 35 = 5 
100% of the stationery in Box C = 100 x 5 = 500

Number of stationery in Box D
= 500 ÷ 5
= 100

100% of stationery in Box D = 100
1% of stationery in Box C = 100 ÷ 100 = 1
25% of stationery in Box C = 25 x 1 = 25  

Number of pencils in Box D = 25
